About the role

Our Portland shop is where people come to see and touch our products before they buy, and often where they decide to become regular customers. As a Retail Sales Associate, you’ll welcome visitors, help them find what they need and keep the shop looking its best. This is a part-time role of three or four shifts a week, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Welcome every customer and help them find the right product, asking questions and sharing what you know about our range.
Take payments on our point-of-sale system, process returns and exchanges, and wrap gifts beautifully.
Restock shelves throughout the day and refresh displays so the shop always looks full and inviting.
Prepare online orders for in-store pickup and hand them over with care.
Learn about new products before they arrive so you can recommend them with confidence.
Open and close the shop on a rota, including counting the till and locking up.
Keep the shop clean and tidy, from the windows to the fitting area.
Share customer feedback and questions with the team, especially about products people ask for that we don’t have yet.

Qualifications

Experience in retail, hospitality or another customer-facing role is helpful, but not essential.
A warm, approachable manner and genuine interest in helping people.
Availability on Saturdays, plus two or three other shifts during the week.
Comfortable handling payments and learning a point-of-sale system.
Able to stand for most of a shift and lift boxes of up to 25 lb.
An interest in home design and good-quality products is a bonus.

What we offer

Paid sick leave from your first day and paid training while you learn the ropes.
A schedule shared two weeks ahead, with room to swap shifts when life happens.
A 30% discount on everything we sell.
The chance to pick up more hours, or move to full-time, as we grow.
